NeIgHbOrHoOd RiVaLrY!

Our neighborhood is widely known as 'the fun neighborhood.' We are always having parties and doing crazy things. It is a good neighborhood, we do have fun.
Most of the neighbors are Utah Jazz fans. We do have a select few who are LA Laker Fans (this is the case during basketball season). We are more evenly divided during football season, but that is another story!

...Sigh...

So there is this family in our neighborhood (most of our neighborhood also consists of our ward) who are HUGE Laker fans. They have Laker decorations up all year long all over their house. They even named their first born son Kobe (they claim its not because of Kobe Bryant but we ALL know better). Anyway, our neighborhood has quite a continuous rivalry going on. The neighbors get together and come up with ideas of how to best decorate other neighbors homes. It is a continous thing. Who knows if or when it will ever end?!?!

So, some families in the neighborhood got together and wanted to decorate the Laker fans house. This was when the Boston Celtics and LA Lakers where playing eachother in the Championship. Go ahead and take a look at how the house got decorated...
I am not sure if this pic quite gives it justice but the pole was 20 feet high and they cemented it into their grass. Please note: The Laker signs hanging in front of their house are covered with cardboad. There was also a shovel that was left on the porch so a sign got put on it that read: 'Thanks for the shovel!'

The night when the LA Lakers won the Championship, the Laker fan neighbors decided to go and decorate. This is what I woke up the following morning. This is a picture of our front door. It says " We Love LA."

This is the outside of my house and my car. Notice the purple and yellow signs, they printed 250 copies and hung them on all of of the mail boxes and over all the neighborhood. They also had the balloons flying everywhere as well.

This is a neighbors house. They took string and tied the cars and strung it all over the yard.

They took the Boston Celtics board that was in the front of their house and painted over it in Laker colors and gave it back to the people who gave it to them.

Our neighborhood gets pretty into it. Everyone is such good sports about it. We have a lot of fun.
