Welcoming Sophia Machelle!

Welcome Sophia Machelle Prinkey! Born on July 8, 2009 (07-08-09) at 07:08 am. She was 8 lbs. 15 ozs and 20 inches long. She is such a doll. She is loved so much!

Proud Parents: Shawn and Natalie Prinkey! (My sister. See any resemblance? She is the older and wiser one and I am the younger and prettier one. Lol...jk)

Proud Sisters: Emily and Addilyn

The ARMY of One, One for the ARMY!

My brother in law Shawn is in the ARMY Reserve. He got promoted to Captian. We now call him "CP" (Captian Prinkey). WOOOHOOO!

Most of the Gibson gang (including former Gibsons too!) went to celebrate his promotion.

We are an ARMY of ONE!

They had an ARMY promotional awards ceremony for him. It was neat!

#1 for Shawn and the ARMY.

Afterwards, we had a PARTY to celebrate his new rank. My sister knows how to throw parties. The theme was "Red, White and Blue". All of the attendees had to either wear Red, White and Blue or Camo. Every little detail fit together so perfectly. The party was a big hit. GO Nat GO!

ARMY WIFE: Don't confuse your rank with my authority! AWESOME...

Grandkids: Look how cute they are!

Kenny and I: We LOVE dress up parties!

Friends for Football

John Beck is a former BYU football quarterback.

Does the name ring a bell?
Maybe this will refresh your memory,
Rivalry game Utah vs BYU...
BYU was trailing behind with just a few minutes left in the game
John Beck threw a pass to Johnny Harline in the endzone with no time remaining in the game.
BYU won! It was a great victory!
Years followed and our BYU's slogan for Utah was 'Harline is still open.'
It was a big deal. To view the winning catch, click here

John Beck now plays for the Baltimore Ravens.
He has this foundation entitled "Friends for Football."
"His goal in creating the foundation was to give those from underprivileged circumstances the opportunity to enjoy the game and learn the valuable lessons football has to offer. Many youth today miss out on participation in local leagues because of the cost of registration. Not only do they miss out on football but they miss out on the growth and learning that comes from organized football."
To read more about his foundation, click here

To raise money for his foundation John Beck put together an auction and golf tournament. There was a great turn out and many people donated items and products to this great cause. Since my family is good friends with the Beck family we had to opportunity of helping out. It was a lot of fun!

Many current and former athletic stars were there:

Ty Detmer (he was a Quarterback and won a Heisman Trophy)

Shawn Bradley (his golf club is as tall as me...lol) He is 7 feet 6 inches! He use to play basketball for BYU and then went on the play for the Dallas Mavericks.

Brian Kehl (he played as a linebacker for BYU last year)

Many others. There were TONS of people there it was hard to get pictures with all of them. I was able to get most of them to autograph a football though.

My dad got an autographed football of 25 Heisman trophy winners. Courtesy of Ty Detmer!

I am a HUGE fan of Steve Young! He was not able to make it to the golf tournament but John Beck got me an autographed football from him. This is me with the football! John Beck said he was going to try to get me to meet him someday. That is one famous person I will be able to cross off my list...

John Beck has such a good heart. He was able to raise lots of money for his foundation. I am grateful for the opportunity I had for helping out.

Quarter of a Century!

What is a quarter of a century?
...25 years...
That is how old Kenny is this year!

I wanted to do something special for his birthday.
...I surprised him...
He had NO idea!

I had packed our bags and put them in the car without him knowing.
...I tried to be sneaky...
I think it worked!

I told him we had things to do.
...no lies, it was true...
So we got into the car and stared driving!

We stopped and got food.
...Bajio, of course...
that wasn't the only stop!

I told him to get into the car and I would navigate.
...no questions were asked...
He did what I said!

Occasionally, he would ask, 'now where do I turn?'
...I smiled and giggled...
I said, 'just keep going!'

It was a long drive.
...curiosity settled in...
He was such a good sport!

We had to stop for gas.
...I started to quiz him...
He had NO idea!

He made some guesses.
...he was wrong...
I was pleased!

We passed a state sign.
...Welcome to Nevada...
If only I could read his mind!

I took out the GPS, we named it Chloe. (Off of Chloe on 24 because she knows EVERYTHING!).
...I turned it on...
He followed Chloes directions!

Chloe led us here.
...JW Marriott Las Vegas...
I think Kenny was in awe!

It is such a beautiful hotel.
...we took lots of pictures...
We just couldn't get enough!

We spent a few days in Vegas.
...had many adventures...
we wanted to see it all!

We went down the Strip.
...of course...
who doesn't when they go to Vegas?!?!

(This picture is for my dad...Bill!)

Made a stop at M & M World
...they have everything...
M & M style of course!

We saw a 3D movie.
...oh how neat...
don't we look sweet!?!?

Then we went to Coca-Cola World
...had drinks from all around the world...
it was such a nice little treat!

Wait, I had one more surprise for Kenny.
...now what could that be...
It wasn't over, we still had more to see!

THE BLUE MAN GROUP SHOW.
...they are spectacular...
have you ever seen them?!?!

Thank you BLUE MAN GROUP
...for giving us a great show...
You are spectacular indeed!

It was so nice to get away for a little vacation.
...Kenny and I love traveling...
We had a great time!

I really wanted him to have a great birthday.
...25 years old....
I think he wishes we could go back!

Here are some more pictures from our vacation:

Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirates Life for Me!

On March 4th my nephew Brennan turned 1!

Can you guess what the theme of his birthday was?!?!
That’s right ‘Pirates’!
All the pirates at the party wore patches.

The birthday boy Brennan wore the captains’ hat.

Kid birthdays are so much fun!

My favorite part at any child's birthday is when they are stripped down to their diaper and are given a chocolate cake to eat. It is the cutest thing ever!

and then the clean up...

(Brennan in the bath)

Uncle Kenny helping out with bath time

(He is going to make such a wonderful father someday!)

We had such a great time!

Love is in the air!

I have not always like the Valentine's Day Holiday.
I would only celebrate it for my mother.
February 14th is her birthday!
There's a cute story to go along with it...
That's for later though!

Since it was our first Valentine's as a married couple, Kenny wanted to make it special.
We have this really good friend who is a professional gourmet chef. He offered to make a 4-course meal for FREE to help us celebrate our first Valentine's day together.
(Thanks Josh, you are superb!)

Love was in the air!

The first course was soup (can't remember what kind).
The second course was a spinach, mandarin salad!
I forgot to take pictures of that one!

The third course was spinach alfredo with fettuccine, chicken and some toasted garlic bread...

It was FABULOUS!!!

and last but DEFINITELY not least, the fourth course was Cheesecake!

Cheesecake is my favorite!

Love was in the air!

It was a great first Valentine's Day!
I think I will celebrate Valentine's Day every year,
and not just for my mom's birthday
but for the holiday itself!
