Snow Day!

I am not a huge fan of the snow. I dont do cold well! We have not gotten too much snow this year. I had purchased some cute snow attire for Ethan and I was just too excited for him to use it. So, the first snowy day that we had where there was actually enough snow to do something, I decided to get us all bundled up and go outside to play and build a snowman. Miss Ellie was napping inside. We had a good time!

Kenny putting Ethans gloves on again! Ethan has to bring a car with him everywhere he goes so of course, he had to bring a car outside in the snow. It kept falling through the snow and Ethan would get all concerned about it. I will not be surprised if after the snow melts we find cars laying on the grass.

Ethan decided he wanted to make one too. He doesn't quite understand how to do it yet but it was cute that he tried.

My cute family! We had a lot of fun. Most of the snow has melted away. We will see if we have a White Christmas. On our next snow day, we are going to go sledding. We have some great sledding hills right near our house. Stay tuned...

Stick with Me

Someone told me, "If you dont take pictures and write about what happens in your life, noone is ever going to remember." "Your kids are not going to remember what they did when they were little, unless you document it" That has stuck with me ever since. I do many fun things with my kids and family but they will never know unless I document it. I have lots of pictures that my kids can look at but if I dont write down the stories to go with those pictures then they are never going to remember. So, I am going to try and blog more. I want to capture my families times together so my kids will have something they can look back on. If you stick with me, you will probably learn something that you never knew before. I promise I will make it worth your while. So get ready to get to know my family on a whole new level!

Make a Memory with Sandy Toes and Salty Kisses

Every year my parents do what is called "Make a Memory." They either take each of my siblings and their families on a trip of their choosing or we have a big trip with all of us together. This year it was the big trip, all 20 of us. They rented a beach house in Surfside, California which is a private community with a private beach. It was fabulous! The house had 3 floors, 8 bedrooms, 3 full baths, 2 half baths and 2 kitchens. It had a pool and hot tub on the roof and was located directly on the beach. This place pretty much had everything. It was loaded! With all of us in the house, it got pretty crazy but was so fun. It was quite spacious!

The theme for this trip was Surf's Up! It stood for: Spirit Unity Reverence Faith Service United in Purpose We were there for a week and each day was a different word and each family got assigned a different word. They had to do a devotional in the morning and prepare a thought/lesson at night. It definitely helped bring us closer and have the spirit with us throughout the week. Sometimes we even had assignments that were associated with the words. For example, for service we had to do secret service throughtout the day. For Spirit, we visited the Newport Beach Temple.

Ellie was only 2 weeks old. She did wonderful and was an outstanding sleeper which helped me out so I could spend as much time with my family as possible. She felt sand between her toes for the first time.

The week was full of lots of fun activities. We went to the tide pools. We saw star fish, an octapus, crabs and many other sea life.

Yes, my dad is crazy and picked up the crabs and star fish. He tried to pick up the octapus but it stuck to his rock really well and then would shoot this poision out to try to scare us away. A defense mechanism that they have, it was neat to see.

We did crafts.

We collected shells.

We got stung by sting ray. Okay well not 'we' more like my brother, Landon and my niece, Emily. They happened within like 30 minutes of eachother but by different sting rays. My brother was boogie boarding and went to step down and it stung him. Emily was at the tide pools when she got stung. They said it hurt really bad and they had to sit for like 2 or 3 hours and put their feet in hot water.

We played beach volleyball

and of course, we played in the sand and water. What a memorable week it was!

My parents even got us all matching shirts. It says Surf's Up on the front with a picture of the sun and waves and then everyones name on the back.

So with Sandy Toes and Salty Kisses, we say farewell and thank you to the fun times, the beach, the amazing week we had with my family, and to my parents who made a wonderful memory that all of us will cherish forever.

Family of Four

We are now a Family of Four! Please Welcome Elizabeth Anne Farnsworth! Ellie (that is what we call her) was born September 21, 2012 at 11:29 pm. 6 lbs. 6 ozs. and 19 inches long! Beautiful, precious little girl.

New Hair Cut for Santa!

Ethan got his first hair cut today. He was NOT a fan.
I think it was the noise of the clippers
OR
the fact that we had to hold his head still, so he could not wiggle.
He does a lot of that, the wiggling.
Whichever.


My cute friend from work cut his hair for me. Bless her!
Her name is FACE...



Okay, well actually its CARA but I call her FACE.
Cara in Spanish means FACE, hence her name FACE. (I bet you did not know that you were going to get a Spanish lesson, did ya?)
She is pregnant and due in February. I am hoping that Ethan and "baby FACE"
have the same birthday.
Then after cutting his hair, he snuggled with daddy while I got my hair cut.



I usually grow out my hair and then donate it to Locks of Love. I have done it 4 times and try to do it about every other year.
For those of you have babies, you know how much your hair changes from the birth and nursing and everything.
Well anyway, I did not donate my hair this time but next time for sure.

After getting our hair done, we went to go see Santa. Was not quite sure how he would react.
He did GREAT! He let Santa hold him, and just looked at him and tried to figure out who he was. Santa loved him and said he has been very good this year and he loved the new hair cut that was done just for him, Santa that is!

What a Blessing!

We blessed Ethan Austin on April 10, 2011.
He was blessed by his daddy.
What a blessing is was to have lots of family and friends come and support us!
