Happy Thanksgiving!

'Twas the night of Thanksgiving, but I just couldn't sleep.

I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.

The leftovers beckoned-The dark meat and white
But I fought the temptation with all of my might.

Tossing and turning with anticipation
The thought of a snack became an infatuation.

So, I raged to the kitchen, flung open the door
And gazed at the fridge, full of goodies galore.

Gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
'til all of a sudden, I rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky
With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie.

But, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees...
Happy Eating to all-pass the cranberries please!

Hope your stuffing was tasty, hope your turkey was plump.
Hope your potatoes 'n gravy had nary a lump
Hope you yams were delicious, hope your pies take the prize.
Hope your Thanksgiving dinner stays off of your thighs
Hope your Thanksgiving was blessed!

Trash Talk

At work, there is a lot of trash talk that goes on.
BYU vs Utah fans
It's about half and half.
We get into it.
I enjoy it!

This is a conversation I had with a guy at work yesterday.
Guy: The Utes are better [than BYU].
Me: Better in what?
Guy: Football.
Me: Not against Wyoming! Lol...
Guy: Lol... Wow Ash, I have never to say. I can't top that!

I am sure on Monday he will have a similar comment to say seeing that BYU ALMOST LOST (but, they didn't) to New Mexico today.
A win is a win right?!?!
Good job Cougs!

Just because...

The hubby bought me roses and a bag of snickers just because... (he knows what I love)

He often does little surprises for me.
(writes me cute little notes, buys me gifts, etc.)
just because...

I am so thankful for him and am so glad he is in my life. He is the best hubby anyone can ask for!

Thanks hubby for all you do! I love you so much.

One of a kind

Everyone has an 'Uncle Bob!' (If not, you should. They are the best kind of Uncles.) Noone has an Uncle Bob quite like mine. He is unique and one of a kind! Today is his birthday. He is not around to celebrate his birthday but I like to think of him and what a great person he was.
What a one of a kind Uncle he was!

He was a great man. He and I were quite close. We had some great memories together:

• He had such a love for sports. He would fly into Utah to attend some BYU football games.

• He worked for ESPN at one time and would tell me one of a kind stories.

• He lived in Tahoe and I would love to visit him. He worked for this Tahoe sports channel and when I went to Tahoe for a basketball camp, he put me on the show one morning.

• I attended a celebrity golf tournament with him where I got to see him hard at work.
• His real name is Robert (Bob, for short!) I use to call him Uncle Bobert!
  

• My dad loved spending time with his brother. They have some funny stories together! They were like two peas in a pod, but one of a kind as well!

• He was not the one that liked getting a lot of attention or having people make a big deal about him. (In fact, if he saw this I would have probably gotten into trouble. Lol! )

So here is to you, Uncle Bobert. Happy Birthday! You really were a one of a kind guy who is loved very much and missed greatly!

Date Night!

I LOVE US and I LOVE date nights!

The hubby and I LOVE to spend time together. We try to go on a date at least once a week. (More than once always makes for a good week!) We try to do something different every week. This last Monday we went out to dinner to BAJIO and then went to go see CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS in 3-D. It was a cute movie. We had a wonderful time and look forward to our next date night.

I am so happy for them.
They are going to make wonderful parents.

The Man...

There is a certain Man in my life that is having a birthday.
It may not be the Man that most of you are thinking...
He is the Man of my life!
Here are a few things about that Man...
This Man is very hard working.
This Man has a good sense of humor.
This Man will do anything to support his family.
This Man is very loving.
This Man knows pretty much everyone and if there is someone he doesn't know, he will get to know them.
This Man is very good at what the family calls 'name dropping.'
This Man does what it takes to get things done, even if it requires some injuries and/or some trips to the hospital.
This Man is a family man.
This Man knows how to make you laugh and knows how to have a good time.
This Man knows me better than I know myself.
This Man is my father!
